The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal initiative expanding in 2025 to include millions more Canadians. At Trio Dentistry in Mississauga, we help eligible patients access covered dental services through expert guidance, easy billing, and timely treatment.

Key 2025 Updates & Eligibility

CDCP now covers uninsured Canadians aged 18–64 with household incomes ≤ $90,000. Up to 9 million people are newly eligible starting June 1, 2025

Income-based coverage breakdown

≤ $70,000 → 100% CDCP coverage
$70k–79,999 → 60% coverage
$80k–89,999 → 40% coverage

Coverage categories include: seniors (65+), children under 18, adults with valid Disability Tax Credit, and new 18–64 age group.

Covered Dental Services

CDCP covers essential treatments from a participating Trio Dentistry dentist, including:

Preventive care: Exams, cleanings, X‑rays, fluoride, sealants
Restorative procedures: Fillings, root canals, Oral surgery: extractions
Oral surgery: Tooth and simple wisdom-tooth extraction
Prosthodontics: Partial/full dentures, relines
Periodontal care: Scaling & root planing

Services like implants or cosmetic treatments (veneers, whitening) are not covered.

Applying for CDCP: Step-by-Step

Check eligibility and apply online via Canada.ca/dental
Required documents:
- Notice of Assessment (2024 tax return)
- SIN or child’s personal info
- Confirmation of no private dental insurance
After approval, you’ll receive a welcome letter with start date and CDCP ID
CDCP billing is managed by Trio Dentistry directly with Sun Life

Note: Coverage begins June 1, 2025, for new applicants. Senior and Disability groups apply earlier and should renew by June 1 to prevent gaps

My recent visit to Trio dentistry went very well. The dental hygenist, Randa did my teeth cleaning with a gentle, light touch without any pain. I appreciated that she allowed me to go ahead and enroll through my phone for one of my exams during the appointment - she was very understanding of this time-sensitive situation. After my cleaning was complete, I had a chance to speak with Dr. Alyaa. She very nicely explained in detail what further dental work I should consider. On the whole, my experience at Tri Dentistry was five stars.

If I could give 10 stars, I absolutely would! I had such an incredible experience with Dr. Sinan and his entire team. I went in feeling extremely terrified due to some really bad past dental experiences, but from the moment I walked in, everyone made me feel so comfortable and at ease.

The front desk staff were beyond kind, patient, and understanding—they truly went above and beyond to support me. Dr. Sinan himself was amazing. He was very reassuring, and checked in on me frequently throughout the entire appointment. I honestly felt nothing, and the whole procedure went by so quickly—it felt like I sat down, he worked his magic, and it was over before I knew it!

As someone who is very nervous, especially when it comes to the dentist, this was a huge deal for me—especially since it was my first root canal. I can confidently say I will never go anywhere else again.

I’m even writing this the same day as my appointment—the numbing has already worn off, and I feel perfectly fine!

If you’re someone who is afraid of the dentist, I highly recommend coming here. You will be in the best hands
